The City Park was enriched with three new pavilions in 2017 as part of the Liget Budapest project. They replaced the dilapidated old row of kiosks that once lined the Állatkerti Boulevard and were implemented based on Frigyes Feszl’s originals designs of 1860 in an Oriental style. The interiors accommodate pleasant cafés and art shops, continuing the gastronomic and commercial traditions of the Liget. As part of the project, the nearby BESZKRT station was also renovated; it is one of the oldest surviving buildings of the park and it has also been given a hospitality function.
