In 2017 the Liget Budapest was selected as the European Union’s best urban development project at MIPIM, a prestigious exhibition of the property business. It was selected as one of the best four projects in the category of the largest-scale and most comprehensive developments, within the framework of the Best Futura Mega Project, and as the best development project in the European Union. Thanks to the Liget Budapest Project, institutions looking back on a history of hundreds of years have been or are being renewed in the park, while new museums have been and are being constructed with the participation of Hungarian and international star architect offices; moreover, the park’s natural values have been and are being rehabilitated and its green areas increased.
